The robot’s quad-flipper and twin-axis drive train allows the robot to climb small to
medium sized obstacles, carry a modest payload and navigate
over rough terrain, while using the dual camera system to deliver
high resolution streaming video back to the operator.
The KRT-705 currently employs a 6 degrees of freedom (d.o.f.)
manipulator unit with gripper that is capable of lifting objects
weighing up to 4 lbs. Using its removable front mounted basket,
the KRT-705 can place the payload into the robots basket, thereby transferring the
weight of the object to the robot’s chassis motors and increase the overall hauling
capacity.
As a research platform, the KRT-705 comes with a gamepad control unit, a
Panasonic Toughbook computer for an Operator Control Unit (OCU), a 36X zoom
high resolution Sony IR camera, or an optional rear mounted omni-directional
camera.

This amazing robot is capable of walking, running, somersaulting and standing up from a face-up or face-down lying position.
It can even be programmed to pull itself up autonomously after it has fallen over.
It stands 13 inches tall, has 17 servo actuated joints (i.e., 17 degrees of freedom), a powerful 60MHz HV processor with 512kB ROM / 64kB RAM and comes fully loaded with over 75 preprogrammed motions.
The robot also comes with an easy to use programming interface, which KumoTek believes to be the most user-friendly programming utility to date that requires little or no prior experience with robotics or programming.
